Meeting Notes 2/21/07

1. Aron came and talked about the next episode of "Aphasia." He said it might be "controversial."

2. Angela asked everyone present to distribute fliers for 6@8. She suggested putting them up in bathrooms/other places on campus where fliers go.

3. Plans for this Sunday's 6@8 (be there at 7.30pm if you want to help!!!):
* Sixth college events (possibly discuss the semi-formal?)
* Do something with Gotcha. Either report on deaths or interview someone who's died.
* Finish with a rap battle between two of Jim's friends (10-15 minutes max, include some kind of disclaimer)

4. The Valentine's special went over well. We discussed doing something similar in the next few weeks, like going around asking students "What are your plans for spring break?"

5. Winter Fusion???

Some updates

After some discussion, it's been decided that "The Sunday Show" will now be called "6 @ 8" because it is a Sixth College show at 8:00 PM. It will be broadcasted Live on Sundays, and an edited re-run will show sometime mid-week.

These videos will also be available online. For now, they will be hosted by the Veoh Video Network. (http://www.veoh.com/series/6at8)

Here is episode one of "6 @ 8"

The Athletic Referendum Debate can be found here.

In other news, Elisa and Jenn will be the new co-secretaries, and Allen Jiang will remain as webmaster.

Also, next week, SCTV crew members will browse the dormitories and apartments for those who wish to give Valentine shout-outs.

Become a Secretary

A new position on the SCTV team has been created. It would be a secretarial job, where one would need to take notes on each meeting, as a record for those who were unable to attend.

If you are interested in such a position, come to tonights SCTV meeting at the Lodge at 7:00 PM.

Here's the official note from the Station Manager:

Also, as we discussed at the last meeting, we are in need of somebody to fill a Secretary-like position. This would consist of taking notes at the meetings, possibly posting updates on the blog/facebook group, and emailing out reminders/updates to everyone. The main purpose of the job is to keep everybody in the loop as to what is going on with the club, especially for those who cannot attend meetings and for Ivan/Hanna/Jason because they are on a rotation for meetings.

So, if you...
1. attend meetings every week
2. like writing cool emails like me and
3. love SCTV from the bottom of your heart..
then this job is right for you!

If you are interested, make sure you come to the meeting TONIGHT because that is when everything will be decided! Don't miss out!

Alright kiddies thanks for your attention :]

--Angela Buck

Clearly, if you only love SCTV from the top of your heart, or any other organ (like your brain), you may want to reconsider. However, because of the relatively relaxed environment of SCTV, something could probably be worked out.

Oh yes, tonight, at 8:00 PM, expect to see "The Sunday Show" created exclusively for SCTV airing on channel 20. It involves an interview with CAT instructor Tara Knight and Freshman Senator Micah Jones.

Because of technical difficulties, "The Sunday Show" was unable to air properly during its natural time (Sundays at 8PM). Thus, it is showing this Wednesday, and most likely many re-runs will occur.

For those who aren't TV people, you can watch it here, online, too.

Winter Quarter 2007

Our good adviser Jason Cha says,

"We know many of you couldn't make SCTV last quarter. We're hoping many of you can come out this quarter.

SCTV will continue to meet this quarter at 7PM in the Lodge every Wednesday.

First meeting is tonight!! 7PM in the Lodge.

Hope to see you there!"

Take note of that.

Sixth College Idol

SCTV is going to film the 2nd Annual Sixth College Idol at the Lodge (It starts at 7:30 pm). The event isn't going to be broadcasted live, just so you know.

Of course, we'd all like it to be the Stephen Colbert Idol, since that's what he is. Go Colbert College!

Anyway, on a real note, SCTV will be covering the event tonight, and we hope to premier it within next quarter, or something.

If you missed out on yeasterday's meeting, you should feel bummed, because there will be no meeting next week. So that's like two weeks of SCTV-less time you've experienced.

Anyway, if you didn't notice, SCTV has been airing various videos. We're airing things starting at 7:30 pm and repeating at 4 hour intervals. So, whether you are bored or not, tune in to Channel 20 in Sixth College.
